Devasthanam Department Takes Over Bhagyalakshmi Temple
The Bhagyalakshmi Temple in Hyderabad, located near Charminar, will now come under the control of the Endowments Department. The Endowments Tribunal has issued a ruling to appoint an Executive Officer (EO) for the temple, ensuring transparency and preventing the misuse of its income. This decision follows complaints regarding the temple's management and is expected to facilitate its development and provide better facilities to the devotees.

Hyderabad: The Bhagyalakshmi Temple, located adjacent to the Charminar in Hyderabad, will now fall under the jurisdiction of the Endowments Department. The Endowments Tribunal issued this landmark decision, taking over the temple’s management from the current trustees, Mahant Manohar Das and Mahant Ranchandra Das, who have been overseeing the temple since the 1960s. The tribunal's order directs the Endowments Department to immediately appoint an Executive Officer (EO) for the temple to ensure smooth operations and prevent any mismanagement.
The decision comes after several complaints about the misuse of the temple’s income, leading the court to investigate and issue this ruling. The court was prompted by a woman’s petition who accused Raj Mohan Das from Uttar Pradesh of mismanaging the temple. She argued that the temple should have uniform control, leading the Endowments Tribunal to recommend bringing it under official supervision.
The Endowments Department is now expected to oversee the temple's financial expenditure and management practices. Experts believe this move will facilitate the temple’s development and provide better facilities to devotees, ensuring the temple's growth and proper maintenance under official supervision.
