Anti-corruption movement undertaken by students
Meanwhile, in the Serbian city of Novi Sad, 15 people were killed when the roof of a railway station collapsed last November. Since then, the student anti-corruption movement has taken a serious turn. The student movement has been supported by intellectuals, judges, farmers, lawyers, and actors from many walks of life. In this context, Prime Minister Miloš Pucevic, who bowed to the intensity of the movement, recently resigned . It is yet to be decided whether to accept the resignation of the Prime Minister within 30 days and form a new government or hold mid-term elections. However, that process has not started in parliament. On the other hand, a bill aimed at increasing funding for university education was debated in parliament. There was a lot of chaos between ruling and opposition members during the voting on this.
