Today, the BRS team to SLBC Tunnel.

Hyderabad: The BRS team is scheduled to visit the SLBC Tunnel today, where an accident occurred. Former Minister Harish Rao will lead the team, along with leaders from the combined Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts. However, Harish Rao has requested that the police should not obstruct them. He mentioned that they had not visited the site so far with the intention of not interfering with the rescue operations. It is known that last Saturday, while tunnel work was ongoing near Doma lepenta in the forest area of Amrabad, Nagar Kurnool district, a major accident occurred, trapping 8 workers.

Eight workers from Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir got trapped in the tunnel accident. Harish Rao clarified that they had refrained from visiting the site all this time to avoid any interference with the government’s rescue operations. He further explained that party leader KCR had directed them to visit the site to observe the rescue efforts and provide necessary suggestions to the government. He emphasized that there was no political motive behind their visit.

As part of efforts to locate the missing workers, a team of experts suggested that the debris, mud, rocks, and rubble accumulated in the collapsed tunnel could be removed through light excavation. They explained that the workers who were at the site when the tunnel collapsed would have tried to rush out, and it is likely that they were in this direction under the debris. In this context, rescue teams hope that excavation efforts will lead to the workers being found within a day or two. Experts recommended starting the excavation and debris removal from this side and gradually moving towards the end of the tunnel.
